There is so much I want to say about this song, but I'll start with this. This song is really close to my heart. I wrote it as a song to help people pull themselves out of the darkness. Bullying is a subject that is extremely important to me because I know how it feels and how it affects you for a long time. Writing this song helped me come to grips with my past experiences with bullying and hard times. In dark moments, I hope this song will bring light to people in the dark. "Firestorm" is a song about growing through tribulations and never giving up. Its getting back up 1000 times, crawling through the glass and growing thicker skin. It's about not running away from the storms but building a home in the storm. Everyone has strength and courage, but it takes time to find it. I was bullied when I was younger. I have been ostracized, made fun of, been told I wasn't good enough or didnt belong. I was even told by someone who I looked up to, that they "gave up on me". Words like that will stay with you forever, but it's what you do with those words and how you let if affect you that matter the most. Let those words fuel your fire. Become a Firestorm! Don't let anyone tell you you're not good enough ... or you don't belong. Everyone on this Earth has a purpose. I hope this song gives you the strength to get back up again. Be a Firestorm!
