"RUN ALONG"
“Run Along” is a powerful country song about finding the courage to walk away from a relationship that no longer serves you. I wrote the song to empower women who have struggled with the emotional challenges of leaving a broken or unhealthy relationship and to remind them of the strength they already have within themselves.
The song uses the idea of childhood games as a metaphor for the games people can play in relationships—bringing attention to the manipulation, hurt, and unhealthy patterns that can become difficult to recognize when you’re living through them.
Through storytelling and a strong message of empowerment, “Run Along” encourages women to stop settling for less than they deserve, reclaim their confidence, and find their fire again. My hope is that listeners who have experienced a difficult relationship will hear themselves in this song and find the courage to choose themselves and take that first step toward something better.
Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is walk away—and get your fire back.
